Our centre provides compassionate ,high quality care,treatment and rehabilitation facilities to those suffering from various neuro-psychological illness and drug addiction. We treat patients in a personal-centric approach which will boost their confidence and help them to regain their lives back.

Accomplishment
The Smile Again
A 26 year old malnourished, sexually abused and wandering women on the streets who was more vulnerable to be exploited by others was rescued at Kakkavakkam on the request from Periyapalayam police station on 23rd Sep 2021.
She presumed to be married and carrying a baby at that moment. The lady had notable poor self-care with severely infected toes wearing a toe ring. And she was very arrogant and aggressive towards the Crisis Intervention and Rescue Team of Aadharavu Home. The team started reviewing past psychiatric history and medications. On this assessment she was found to be a psychiatric patient with intellectual disability and psychosis. She had poor drug compliance and was wandering. With the help of psychiatric social workers and psychologist she was taken to Government Hospital Periyapalayam for further routine medical check -ups. After the completion of legal procedure she was admitted to Aadharavu home as per the memo from police. Treatment was started with the advice of psychiatrist. Along with psychiatric medication she had undergone psychological therapies and psycho-social interventions. Her symptoms got relieved to some extent and was reunited with her family on 7th February 2022. Her father (Mr Babu ) who was a daily wage worker, overwhelmed with happiness when we handover her back to the family.
The Second Life
Mr.B was found wandering near Chennai- Kolkata highroad at periyapalam, chennai on September 2, 2020. He was speaking irrelevently wearing torn clothes with poor hygiene. It was found that he had lost connection with his family and was abused physically by strangers. He couldn’t remember anything after this trauma and hence he was wandering on roads without any source for food and water.
Our staffs at Aadharavu Home rescued him and admitted following all the legal procedures and named him as Murugan. He was provided basic needs like food, water and shelter, followed by 6 months of treatment and counseling for psychosis nos. He started recollecting his own identity and whereabouts. Aadharavu Home took an initiative in finding his family through social media and succeeded in this attempt. He was connected with his brother through facebook and was reunited with his family through the district collector’s support. They were very happy to see him back in a stable and healthy condition, since they thought he had passed away and had performed his final rituals. Aadharavu Home supported him with medicines for the next 6 months along with travel expenses to Nepal.

April 1, 2022, Periyapalayam. A wandering mentally ill person was seen on the streets of Periyapalayam and was rescued by the staff of Aadharavu Home by following proper procedures and protocols. He had restricted affect at the time of admission. His family was traced with the help of social media and found to be wandering in Kerala which led him to Tamilnadu. As per his family’s preference, he was given treatment for severe depression and reunited with his family on April 26, 2022. He has been continuously followed and provided medicines.
The Second Life
September 23, 2021, Kakkavakkam, Thiruvallur district. Referred by All women police station, Uthukottai taluk, a 26 years old malnourished, sexually abused women was admitted after following necessary procedures. She was given critical care treatment and rehabilitation for 5 months after which she was sent back home on February 7, 2022. Frequent follow-up and medicines are being provided free of cost.

Rooms and Dormitories (A/C and Non A/C) are available for the stay. Centre has a facility of100 beds. Expansion of the centre’s facility is under planning and soon it will be executed. In short we concentrate more on healthy and hygienic stay of the patients

The more we learn about mental health the better we can provide helpful support to those in our lives who struggle with mental health. We also concentrate in raising awareness about the importance of mental health among general public and social target group.(school and college students, industrial workers).Community awareness for mental health reduces stigma. Awareness reduces negative adjective that have been set to describe our people with a mental illness.
