September 2, 2020, Aadharavu home, Periyapalayam. A wandering mentally ill person was found near periyapalayam, famished and with poor hygiene. He was admitted at Aadharavu home following government protocols after providing food, accommodation, and clothes. His speech was irrelevant and had a blunt affect at the time of admission.
After 6 months of intensive care, treatment, and counseling for psychosis nos, he started recollecting his own identity and whereabouts. He became healthy both physically and mentally
February 3, 2021, District Collector’s office, Thiruvallur. After Aadharavu Home’s took an initiative in finding his family through social media and succeeded in this attempt, he was connected with his brother through facebook and was reunited with his family through the district collector Mr. Ponnaiyya’s support. They were very happy to see him back in a stable and healthy condition, since they thought he had passed away and had performed his final rituals. Aadharavu Home supported him with medicines for the next 6 months along with travel expenses to Nepal.
February 26, 2021, Periyapalayam. A wandering mentally ill person was found near periyapalayam who didn’t knew his identity at the time of rescue. He was given treatment and rehabilitation for 3 months after which he was found to be a resident from Tondaiyarpet, North Chennai. He was reunited with his family on May 2, 2021.
September 23, 2021, Kakkavakkam, Thiruvallur district. Referred by All women police station, Uthukottai taluk, a 26 years old malnourished, sexually abused women was admitted after following necessary procedures. She was given critical care treatment and rehabilitation for 5 months after which she was sent back home on February 7, 2022. Frequent follow-up and medicines are being provided free of cost.
March 23, 2022, Periyapalayam. A wandering mentally ill person was seen roaming around Aadharavu Home and was rescued by staffs following government protocols. He has been given treatment for depression with anti-social personality disorder.
On Oct 30, 2022, after several attempts, the Crisis Intervention and rescue team found his family and sent him back to his hometown with proper guidance and support.
April 1, 2022, Periyapalayam. A wandering mentally ill person was seen on the streets of Periyapalayam and was rescued by the staff of Aadharavu Home by following proper procedures and protocols. He had restricted affect at the time of admission. His family was traced with the help of social media and found to be wandering in Kerala which led him to Tamilnadu. As per his family’s preference, he was given treatment for severe depression and reunited with family on April 26, 2022. He has been continuously followed and provided medicines.
